The cage is the cashier's office inside a land-based casino, the secured hub where all financial transactions are processed: exchanging Casino Chips for cash, redeeming markers, cashing cheques, and settling large payouts. In online casinos there is no physical cage; the equivalent is the cashier or banking section, where deposits, withdrawals, and verification take place.
