What is Bet Max?

The "Bet Max" button on slot machines and video poker games places the largest permitted bet across all active paylines in a single click, sparing the player from manually setting line count and coin value each spin. It is a convenience control, but on certain games it carries a consequence that makes it strategically important. The critical case is jackpots and bonus features that are only available, or only paid in full, when the maximum bet is staked. This is most associated with some progressive slots and many video-poker pay tables.
