Grand Salami

Sports betting

The Grand Salami is a bet on the combined total of goals scored across all games in a single day's NHL or baseball schedule.

The Grand Salami is a single totals bet covering every game on a given day's schedule, offered chiefly in the NHL and MLB. Instead of an over/under on one match, you wager on the combined number of goals or runs scored across the entire slate. Worked example: eight NHL games are scheduled and the Grand Salami total is set at 47.5. You bet whether the total goals from all eight games, added together, will be over or under that line. If the finals add up to 51 goals, the over wins; 45 goals and the under wins. Each individual game still has its own total trading separately — the Grand Salami simply rolls them all into one number. It matters as a fun, day-long position that keeps every game on the card meaningful: a late goal in a blowout you have no other interest in can still swing your bet. The common mistake is forgetting that the line depends on every scheduled game being played. A postponement or suspension usually means the affected game is voided from the count and the line is adjusted, or the whole bet is graded under the book's specific rules — so check how postponements are treated before betting.
