Mental is a Nolimit City slot from 2021, built on an irregular five-reel layout of three, two, three, two and three positions for 108 ways to win. Its reputation is for two things: a deliberately unpleasant asylum theme, censored in some markets, and a feature set dense enough that a first session is mostly spent working out what just happened. The base mechanic is the Fire Frame. Between one and thirteen positions can be surrounded by flames, and a framed position splits the symbol landing in it into two. The second and fourth reels carry Enhancer Cells at their bottom position, activated by four or six Fire Frames respectively, and each grants one of six modifiers to the spin. The Dead Patient feature fires when two Dead Patient symbols land: one converts into a premium patient symbol carrying a value from 5x up to 9,999x, which counts as a number of symbols rather than as a win multiplier — a distinction worth knowing before reading the paytable. Free spins come in three tiers, and each is the tier below it plus more: Autopsy from three scatters, Lobotomy from three scatters and a spider, and the Mental round above both, with sticky frames and collected multipliers carried through.
