Hit Frequency

Hit frequency is the percentage of spins on which a slot returns any winning combination. A hit frequency of 33% means roughly one spin in three produces a win of some size. It tends to move inversely with volatility: a high hit frequency of 30-40% or more usually accompanies low volatility — frequent small wins — while a low hit frequency of 10-20% accompanies high volatility, with rarer but potentially larger payouts.
