Bonus Expiry

Bonuses

Bonus expiry is the deadline to claim a casino bonus or complete its wagering; miss it and the bonus plus any winnings are forfeited. See how it works.

Bonus expiry is the deadline by which a bonus must be claimed, or by which its wagering requirement must be fully met; if either condition goes unfulfilled before the clock runs out, the bonus funds and any winnings derived from them are forfeited. Expiry usually takes two forms: a claim window (often 7 to 30 days from credit or offer receipt) after which an unactivated bonus lapses, and a wagering window (commonly 7, 14 or 30 days) that starts once the bonus is credited and within which the full playthrough must be completed. Worked example: you claim a 100% match on a £50 deposit, receiving £50 in bonus funds with a 35x wagering requirement and a 7-day expiry. To clear it you must stake £1,750 (£50 x 35) within those seven days, roughly £250 of turnover per day. If on day 8 you have wagered only £1,400 and sit on £120 of bonus-derived winnings, the operator strips the outstanding bonus and every penny of those winnings, leaving you only your withdrawable real-money balance. For players, expiry is where many bonuses quietly die: a generous match with a tight window and high wagering can be mathematically impossible to clear for a modest depositor, so always divide the required turnover by the days allowed before opting in. The common mistake is treating the expiry as starting when you begin playing rather than when the bonus is credited. Compare with wagering requirements, the bonus expiry's sibling terms max cashout and playthrough requirement, and the sticky bonus.
