What is Caribbean Stud Poker?

Caribbean stud poker is a five-card casino table game played against the dealer rather than other players, so there is no bluffing and no betting rounds. You place an ante, receive five cards face down and see one of the dealer's cards, then choose either to fold and forfeit the ante or to raise, usually for twice the ante. The dealer qualifies with ace-king or better; if the dealer does not qualify, the ante pays even money and the raise pushes. When the dealer qualifies and loses, the raise pays according to a fixed table that scales with your hand, from even money up to large multiples for a royal flush. Many tables offer an optional progressive jackpot side bet, which carries a noticeably higher house edge than the main game.
