What does Draw No Bet mean in football?

Draw No Bet removes the draw as an outcome. If the game ends in a draw, your stake is returned. Only win or lose outcomes apply.

What it means in practice

Draw No Bet (DNB) is a football market that removes the draw from the equation entirely: you back either the home team or the away team to win, and if the match ends level, your full stake is refunded. It is functionally equivalent to taking the Asian Handicap 0 line, where neither side is given a head start. By eliminating the draw as a losing outcome, DNB reduces the risk of a standard match-winner bet, and that reduced risk is paid for through shorter odds than the straight win price. Worked example: in a match where backing the home team outright is priced at 2.20, the same team on Draw No Bet might be offered at around 1.70. Stake 100 on the home side via DNB and three outcomes follow: a home win returns 170 (70 profit); a draw returns your 100 stake in full, a break-even result; an away win loses the 100. Contrast that with the straight 2.20 bet, where a draw would have cost you the full stake. You have traded the higher 120 profit of the outright price for protection against the draw, lowering both your risk and your reward. Draw No Bet matters because it suits situations where you favour one team but fear a stalemate, offering a middle ground between a full match-winner bet and the safety-first Double Chance, which pays out on the draw rather than merely refunding. The common mistake is reaching for DNB by default and surrendering value: the draw protection is priced in, so over many bets the shortened odds carry the bookmaker's margin, the Vig, on top. DNB is most justified in tight matches with a credible chance of a draw; where a draw is unlikely, the stake refund is worth little and the straight Moneyline often offers better value.

Why it matters

A definition like this one decides what an offer is actually worth. The same wording turns up in bonus terms, on payment pages and in game rules, and it is usually where a promotion’s real cost is hiding — so it is worth reading an operator’s own terms with this meaning in mind rather than the marketing above them.

You must be of legal gambling age where you live — 18 in most markets, 19 or 21 in others. Understanding a term does not make an outcome more likely: casino games are built to return less than they take over time. Set deposit and time limits before you play.
