Asian Total

What is Asian Total?

An Asian total, or goal line, splits your stake across quarter lines so a result can be half-won, half-lost or refunded instead of all or nothing.

What it means in practice

An Asian total, often called a goal line, is an over/under market that can use quarter lines such as 2.25 or 2.75, splitting your stake across two adjacent lines. That produces half-win and half-loss outcomes a standard over/under does not have, while whole-number lines return the stake if the total lands exactly there. Worked example: you back over 2.25 goals with €100. Half the stake sits on over 2.0 and half on over 2.5. If the match ends with exactly two goals, the over 2.0 half is refunded and the over 2.5 half loses, so you lose €50 rather than €100. The structure narrows the range of outcomes rather than improving expected return; the operator's margin is still priced into both component lines. Settlement normally covers regulation time only.

Why it matters

A definition like this one decides what an offer is actually worth. The same wording turns up in bonus terms, on payment pages and in game rules, and it is usually where a promotion’s real cost is hiding — so it is worth reading an operator’s own terms with this meaning in mind rather than the marketing above them.

You must be of legal gambling age where you live — 18 in most markets, 19 or 21 in others. Understanding a term does not make an outcome more likely: casino games are built to return less than they take over time. Set deposit and time limits before you play.
