What is AstroPay?

AstroPay is a payment service built around a virtual prepaid card and a wallet, used mainly in Latin America, Asia and Africa. Players fund it in local currency through local rails — bank transfer, local cards, cash networks — and then pay the gambling site from it, so the operator sees the card or wallet rather than the underlying bank account. That structure has two consequences worth knowing before you use it. Payments can be one-directional: at some operators it is a deposit method with no matching withdrawal route, and the money comes back by bank transfer instead. The cashier is the only place that states which, and it varies by country as well as by operator. And because the wallet holds a currency of its own, paying into an account denominated in another currency converts the money — sometimes twice across a deposit-and-withdrawal cycle. Two conversions do not cancel out, so a balance can return smaller than it left even on a break-even session. The checks are the same as for any wallet-type method: whether it qualifies for the promotion you intend to claim, what the minimum is on that specific method, and whether withdrawals must return to the method the deposit came from.
