Cashback Bonus

A cashback bonus is a promotional offer in which the casino refunds a percentage of a player's net losses over a set period — most commonly weekly, for example 10% of the previous week's losses credited every Monday. It belongs to the family of loss-rebate promotions and is widely regarded as one of the most player-favourable bonus types, because it returns money against real losses rather than handing out hypothetical bonus credit that must be built up from a deposit match. The key variable is how the refund is delivered. "Real cashback" is paid as withdrawable cash with no playthrough. "Bonus cashback" is credited as bonus funds subject to wagering requirements that must be met before withdrawal. Worked example: under a 10% weekly cashback bonus you lose £300 net across a week. On Monday you are credited £30. If it is real cashback, you can withdraw the £30 straight away and your net loss is effectively £270. If it is bonus cashback with a 5x wagering requirement, you must wager £150 before the £30 (and any winnings from it) can be withdrawn, which lowers its true value. Why it matters: unlike a deposit-match bonus that inflates your balance with restricted funds, cashback reduces what you actually lost, giving it a tangible and easily understood benefit. Common mistake and caveat: not reading the terms. Check whether the refund is cash or bonus, the wagering multiple if any, the percentage and cap, the qualifying period, and whether "net loss" excludes bonus play. A capped, heavily wagered cashback bonus is worth far less than its headline rate. Responsible-gambling note: a cashback bonus is not an incentive to lose more to "earn" a bigger rebate.
