An Esports Major is a premier, publisher-sponsored tournament that sits at the top of a game's competitive calendar, such as a CS2 Major or a Dota 2 Major, gathering the strongest qualified teams and generating the heaviest outright betting interest of the season. Because the developer backs the event, prize pools are large, the field is the deepest of the year, and the outright (tournament-winner) market attracts more liquidity and sharper prices than routine matches.
