Kill

Kill betting is an esports market in which you wager on the total number of player eliminations, or kills, within a game, map or match. It is widely available for titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2 and League of Legends, and it functions much like an over/under total in traditional sports, sitting alongside the simpler match-winner market. Worked example: a bookmaker posts Over/Under 22.5 total kills on a single CS2 map. If you back the over, you need 23 or more combined kills across both teams for the bet to win; 22 or fewer settles the under. Because the line is set at a half number, a push is impossible. A bettor who knows that both teams favour aggressive, fast-paced default setups, and that the chosen map historically produces high round counts, might lean towards the over, whereas two disciplined, slow-playing line-ups on a defender-friendly map point towards the under. Why it matters: kill totals reward deep game knowledge — team playing styles, map tendencies, recent roster changes and even the patch or meta in force — far more than the binary match-winner market does. The common mistake is to treat the line as a coin flip without accounting for format: a best-of-one carries different totals from a best-of-three, and overtime rounds can blow through an over unexpectedly.
