What is Free Bet Blackjack?

Free Bet Blackjack is a live blackjack variant that gives away the doubles and splits players most want. Doubling on a hard 9, 10 or 11 costs nothing — the table places a free chip beside your bet — and splitting any pair other than tens is free as well. Win the free double and you are paid on the free amount as though you had staked it; the promotional chip itself is not returned, because it was never yours. Nothing is actually free. The rule that funds it is Push 22: when the dealer busts with exactly 22, every player hand still standing pushes instead of winning. A dealer 22 arrives often enough that this single rule pays for every free double and split on the table, and it takes hands you had already won and turns them into stakes returned. Worked example: 10 on the box, dealt 6-5 against a dealer 6. You double for free, so 20 is in play for a 10 stake. The dealer draws to 22 — under normal rules you win 20, here you get your 10 back and nothing more. With blackjack paying 3 to 2 and standard rules elsewhere, the house edge lands near 0.65 percent, so the game is still one of the cheaper live tables. Basic strategy shifts, though: free doubles should be taken more often than paid ones, and the table's own rules screen states which totals qualify.
