What is Lightning Blackjack?

Lightning Blackjack is a live blackjack format that adds random multipliers to every round. Once the cards are dealt, certain card values or hand totals are struck and assigned a multiplier for that round, and a winning hand matching one of them is paid at the multiplied rate rather than at the ordinary price. The multipliers are not free. Every hand at the table carries an additional charge on top of the amount you are actually playing for, usually stated as a fixed proportion of the stake. That extra money funds the multiplied payouts, which is why the game can advertise wins far above what a normal blackjack table returns. Because of that charge, the multiplied version returns less over time than the plain live blackjack table running beside it, even where both use the same shoe and the same rules. The fee is easy to miss because the interface folds it into a single bet amount, so the number you click is not the number your hand is playing for. Before sitting down, compare the two tables on what actually sets the return: whether the dealer hits soft 17, what a blackjack pays, whether the multiplied round still pays that premium, and what any side bets cost.
