A method of victory bet, common in combat sports, asks how a contest will end rather than only who wins: knockout or technical knockout, submission, or a judges' decision. Markets are usually listed per fighter and per method, and many books add a "fight goes the distance" yes/no alternative.
Worked example: you back a fighter by knockout. If they win by unanimous decision, the bet loses even though your fighter won, because only the selected method settles as a winner.
Settlement definitions vary between operators. A doctor stoppage, corner retirement or disqualification may be grouped with TKO or treated separately, and a technical decision may settle differently again. Reading the rules before staking matters more here than in most markets, because the same real-world result can settle two ways at two different books.
