Sub-affiliate
AffiliateA sub-affiliate program pays you a percentage of commissions earned by affiliates you have recruited — creating a two-tier passive income structure.
A sub-affiliate programme lets an affiliate earn a share of the commissions generated by other affiliates they recruit into the same operator's scheme. Instead of being paid only on the players you send, you also receive a percentage of the earnings of the partners beneath you — passive income layered on top of your own. Typical sub-affiliate rates run from 2% to 10% of the recruited affiliate's commissions, and programmes such as Betsson (around 10%) and Kindred (around 5%) have long offered this structure.
Worked example: you recruit ten affiliates who each earn £1,000 a month in commissions. At a 5% sub-affiliate rate you receive an additional £500 a month (10 × £1,000 × 5%) without sending a single player yourself. Critically, this is usually paid out of the operator's margin, not deducted from the sub-affiliates' earnings — they still receive their full £1,000 — so it is not a pyramid where lower tiers fund upper ones.
The appeal is leverage and diversification: a network of productive sub-affiliates can outgrow what one operator could send alone, and it smooths income across many players rather than a handful.
The common mistake is recruiting indiscriminately and assuming a long roster equals revenue. Five percent of inactive or low-quality affiliates is nothing, and your sub-affiliate income inherits all their risk — chargebacks, fraud or negative carryover on their accounts can erode it. Vet recruits and track their genuine production. Compare with CPA, revenue share and tracking links, and disclose affiliate relationships transparently to comply with advertising rules.
