Wagering Contribution

Bonuses

Wagering contribution is the percentage each game type counts toward a bonus's wagering requirement, e.g. slots 100% but blackjack often 10% or excluded.

Wagering contribution is the percentage that stakes on each game type count toward clearing a bonus's wagering requirement. Not every game contributes equally: slots usually count 100%, so £1 staked reduces the requirement by the full £1, while table games and low-edge titles count far less or not at all. A typical rate card might read slots 100%, roulette 20% or 10%, blackjack and video poker 10% or 5%, and some live-dealer and jackpot games 0% (excluded entirely). Casinos set these rates in the bonus terms and conditions to stop players clearing requirements cheaply on low-house-edge games. Worked example: you claim a £100 bonus with a 30x wagering requirement, meaning £3,000 in qualifying stakes. On slots at 100%, £3,000 wagered clears it in full. Switch to blackjack contributing 10%, and every £100 you stake counts as only £10 toward the target, so you would need to wager £30,000 to clear the same bonus. If a game is excluded (0%), stakes there make no progress at all and may even void the bonus under some terms. For players, contribution rates are the hidden lever that determines how realistically a bonus can be cleared; a headline requirement of 30x is far tougher on 10% games than the number alone suggests. Affiliates should surface these rates in bonus reviews, not just the multiplier. Always check which games qualify and at what percentage before committing a deposit, and confirm whether playing excluded games forfeits winnings.
