Cascading Multiplier

A cascading multiplier is a slot feature in which the win multiplier climbs by a set step with each successive cascade (or tumble) in a single spin, so consecutive chain-reaction wins are paid at progressively higher values. It only exists on cascading (tumble) slots, where winning symbols are removed and replaced by new ones dropping into the empty spaces, letting one spin produce a run of wins. The multiplier usually starts at 1x on the first win and increases by a fixed increment on each following cascade, commonly 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x in the base game and a higher ladder such as 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x during free spins. Some games cap the multiplier; others let it climb without limit until the cascades stop, which is the main driver of headline max-win potential. Worked example: you stake 1.00 and land a first-cascade win of 4.00 at 1x. The reels tumble, a second win of 3.00 lands at 2x (paying 6.00), then a third win of 2.00 at 3x (paying 6.00). Across the chain you collect 4.00 + 6.00 + 6.00 = 16.00 from a 1.00 stake, versus 9.00 if every win had paid at 1x. The multiplier magnified the later wins, not the total symbol value. As an affiliate note, cascading multipliers are a marketing hook but they concentrate payouts into rare long chains, so these games tend to be high-volatility; the advertised max win is reached far less often than the feature's excitement implies.
