Corners Betting

Corners betting covers football markets on the number of corner kicks in a match, most often as an over/under total, a corners handicap between the two teams, or first and last corner. It settles on corners actually taken, not on those awarded and then not taken — a common source of confusion. Worked example: the line is over/under 10.5 corners. Nine corners are awarded but one is not taken because the half ends, so the market settles at nine and under 10.5 wins. Most corner markets cover 90 minutes plus stoppage time and exclude extra time unless stated. Team corner totals and race-to-first-corner variants also exist. As with any total, the operator's margin is priced into both sides, and late tactical play makes corner counts volatile.
