Gas Fee
CryptoA gas fee is the blockchain transaction fee, mainly on Ethereum, paid to process a crypto transfer, raising the real cost of a deposit, bet or withdrawal.
A gas fee is the transaction fee paid to a blockchain network to process and validate a transfer, most famously on Ethereum, where every deposit, bet settlement or withdrawal consumes computing effort that must be paid for in the network's native token. Gas is measured in units of computation and priced in gwei (a tiny fraction of ETH), so the total fee equals the gas used multiplied by the gas price you are willing to pay. Because that price floats with network demand, the same crypto casino deposit can cost pennies during quiet hours or many dollars when the chain is congested.
Worked example: suppose a standard Ethereum transfer uses 21,000 gas and the gas price is 30 gwei. The fee is 21,000 x 30 = 630,000 gwei, which is 0.00063 ETH. At an ETH price of 2,000 USD that is about 1.26 USD. If you deposit 20 USD of ETH, the gas fee alone is roughly 6% of your stake before you have placed a single bet; on a busier day at 100 gwei the same transfer could cost around 4.20 USD, or 21% of a 20 USD deposit.
For players, gas fees make small crypto deposits and withdrawals inefficient, so it often pays to move larger amounts less frequently or use cheaper networks such as layer-2 chains, or coins with lower fees. Some operators absorb withdrawal gas, while others pass it on. Always factor gas into the true cost of a crypto bankroll. Compare with transaction fee, crypto withdrawal, network confirmation and Ethereum casino.
