What is Loose Slots?

A loose slot is one that pays out more generously than average, whether through more frequent wins or larger payouts. The expression comes from bricks-and-mortar casino folklore, where players hunted for machines that felt ready to pay or were rumoured to be placed in high-traffic spots to attract play. Online, the vague feel of looseness is replaced by a precise, published figure: the return-to-player percentage, or RTP. Worked example: a slot with a 97% RTP is, by definition, looser than one set to 92%.
