Low Roller

A low roller is a player who stakes small amounts: minimum-bet table play, low-denomination spins, modest sports stakes, usually because gambling is entertainment funded from a fixed budget. The term is the counterpart of high roller. Individually such players earn few comps, but collectively they supply most of a venue's turnover, and online operators design low minimum stakes and small deposit options around them. What matters practically is structure. The table minimum decides whether a bankroll survives a session, coin size and line count set how fast a slot balance moves, and a bonus with a maximum bet rule is rarely a constraint at small stakes. Betting small does not remove the house edge; it only slows the rate at which the edge applies. Playing at a level you can lose without consequence is the point, not a stage before playing bigger.
