Networked Jackpot

A networked jackpot, also known as a wide-area or linked jackpot, is a prize fed by wagers from many games running across multiple sites on the same supplier's network. Linking large numbers of players together makes the meter climb quickly, which is why network jackpots carry the biggest advertised figures in online slots. The trade-off is that the chance of triggering one on any given spin is extremely small and does not change as the pot grows: a bigger meter never means a win is closer. Contributions are taken from each qualifying wager, so the base game returns slightly less than a non-jackpot version, and some networks require a qualifying stake for eligibility.
