Multiplier Wild

Slots

A multiplier wild substitutes for symbols and multiplies the win it completes. Two in a line usually multiply together, raising volatility not value.

A multiplier wild is a wild symbol that both substitutes for other symbols and multiplies the value of any win it helps complete, commonly by two or three times. If two multiplier wilds appear in the same winning line, most games multiply the multipliers together rather than adding them, so a 2x and a 3x wild produce a 6x line win. Because those larger wins are funded from the same overall return, games with strong multiplier wilds usually pay smaller or less frequent wins elsewhere, which raises volatility rather than expected value. The multiplier normally applies only to line wins the wild is part of, and rarely to scatter payouts. The game rules and paytable state exactly which wins qualify, and are worth reading first.
