Money Symbol

A money symbol, also called a cash or coin symbol, is a slot symbol that displays a fixed cash value or stake multiplier on its face instead of paying through the normal paytable. It is most associated with hold-and-win style features, where landing enough money symbols triggers a respin round in which collected values lock in place and are added together at the end. The values are drawn at random from a set weighted by the game's maths, so small amounts appear far more often than the large ones used in marketing. Some games also let money symbols pay in the base game. Because visible totals build up across a round, these features can feel close to a large result even when the round finishes small; the displayed values are the payout, not a signal that more is coming.
