Yankee
Sports bettingA Yankee is an 11-bet wager on four selections: six doubles, four trebles and one fourfold accumulator, with no singles. At least two must win.
A Yankee is a full-cover multiple bet on four selections that generates 11 separate bets: six doubles, four trebles and one fourfold accumulator. It contains no singles, so at least two of your four selections must win before the bet returns anything. Because each of the 11 lines carries its own stake, a Yankee costs 11 unit stakes in total, and every winning combination is paid out independently rather than all-or-nothing.
The Yankee sits in the same family as the Trixie (three selections, four bets) and the Lucky 15 (four selections plus four singles, 15 bets). Adding singles turns a Yankee into a Lucky 15; the Yankee itself rewards selections winning in clusters rather than in isolation.
Worked example: back four horses at 2.00, 3.00, 4.00 and 5.00 with a £1 unit stake, so the ticket costs £11. If all four win, every line pays. The six doubles return £6 + £8 + £10 + £12 + £15 + £20 = £71, the four trebles return £24 + £30 + £40 + £60 = £154, and the fourfold returns 2.00 × 3.00 × 4.00 × 5.00 = 120.00, or £120. Total returns are £345 from an £11 outlay, a £334 profit. If only two selections land, just the single double between them pays.
Practical context: affiliates should stress that a Yankee's headline "big win" figure assumes all four legs win, an outcome whose probability is far lower than the payout suggests, and that many bookmakers apply consolation or bonus terms to full-cover bets that alter the real return.
