What is Bet Level?

Bet level is the multiplier applied on top of coin value to set the total amount staked on a spin. It appears in slots whose betting interface splits the stake into two controls rather than offering one amount: the first sets the size of a coin, the second sets how many of those coins the game commits per line or per spin. The arithmetic is straightforward. Total stake equals coin value multiplied by bet level multiplied by the number of lines or coins the game bets on each spin, and that product is the figure shown as the total bet. Raising the level from one to five stakes five times as much per spin at the same coin value. Because prizes in slots are quoted as multiples of the total stake, raising bet level changes nothing about the return or the odds of the game. Everything simply becomes larger in the same proportion, wins and losses together. The real hazard is the interface: two controls that both increase the stake sit next to each other, and moving the wrong one is the most common way a player ends up betting several times what they intended. Check the total bet figure rather than either control before spinning.
