What is Jackpot Tier?

A jackpot tier is one level in a game's set of jackpots, usually named something like mini, minor, major and grand, each with its own seed value, its own share of the contribution and its own odds of being hit. The tiers are not a single prize shown at four sizes. They are four separate pools, and the small ones are hit often enough to be part of ordinary play while the top one may go months between drops. That is why a lobby figure looks large: the number on the tile is almost always the grand, which is also the tier you are least likely to reach. Two things are worth checking. Whether the tiers are local to one operator or networked across many, because a networked grand grows faster and is contested by far more players. And whether the tier is awarded at random, by a bonus wheel, or by collecting symbols, since that decides whether stake size changes your chance of qualifying at all.
