What is Pass Line Bet?

The pass line bet is the foundational wager in craps and the one most new players are shown first. It is placed before the come-out roll: a 7 or 11 wins immediately, a 2, 3 or 12 loses immediately, and any other number becomes the point. Once a point is established, the bet wins if the shooter rolls that number again before rolling a 7, and loses if the 7 comes first. It pays even money and cannot be taken down once a point is set. Alongside the don't pass bet, it carries one of the lower house edges on the table, while the many proposition bets in the centre of the layout carry substantially higher ones. The edge is small but permanent, not removable.
