Request A Bet
Sports bettingRequest A Bet (RAB) is a bookmaker feature that lets punters ask a trader to price up a custom multi-market bet not offered as a standard option.
Request A Bet, commonly abbreviated RAB, is a feature that lets punters ask a bookmaker to price up a custom multi-market bet that is not available as a standard option. Instead of picking from pre-set markets, you submit a specific combination of outcomes, often across one match, and a trader manually prices it as a single-priced selection. Sky Bet popularised the format, and it sits alongside automated bet builders as a way for bookmakers to satisfy demand for bespoke, higher-priced wagers.
The mechanism differs from a bet builder in one key way: a bet builder generates a price instantly from an algorithm, whereas a classic Request A Bet is quoted by a human trader, usually after a short delay and sometimes only during limited hours or on flagged fixtures. That manual step means the bookmaker fully controls the odds and can decline or adjust any request it deems too sharp.
Worked example: you ask for Erling Haaland to score 2 or more, Manchester City to win, and over 3.5 total goals in one match. Priced individually these might imply short odds, but as a correlated RAB the trader returns a combined price of 12.00. A 10 stake would return 120 in total, of which 110 is profit, if all three legs land.
Because the legs are usually correlated, the offered price is often lower than naively multiplying the individual odds would suggest. Treat any single-price RAB as the bookmaker's number, compare it against a bet builder on the same selections, and never chase a bespoke market beyond your bankroll.
