RevShare

Revenue share, usually written RevShare, is an affiliate commission model in which the affiliate earns an ongoing percentage of the net gaming revenue produced by the players they refer, frequently for the lifetime of each player's activity. It is the principal alternative to the fixed-fee CPA model, and the choice between the two shapes an affiliate's cash flow and long-term earnings very differently. Rates commonly run from 20% to 70% depending on the programme and the volume an affiliate delivers. Net gaming revenue is broadly the players' losses after bonuses, fees and sometimes chargebacks are deducted, so the affiliate's pay rises and falls with how those players actually perform. A worked example: if a referred cohort generates 5,000 of net revenue in a month and the deal pays 35%, the affiliate earns 1,750 for that month, and continues earning a share for as long as those players remain active. The strength of RevShare is compounding. A single referral who keeps depositing can produce commissions for months or years, so a stable base of players builds passive income that grows as new referrals are layered on top. This favours content and audiences with genuine retention rather than one-off traffic. The trade-off is slow and uncertain early cash flow compared with CPA, which pays a fixed amount per qualifying depositor up front. RevShare also exposes the affiliate to downside: a negative-carryover clause means a month in which referred players win overall can leave a deficit that is carried forward and offset against future earnings before any commission is paid. Reading the contract for negative carryover, bundling rules and how net revenue is defined is essential, since these terms decide whether a headline percentage is as generous as it looks.
