CPC (cost per click) is an affiliate and advertising pricing model in which the partner is paid a fixed amount for every click on a tracked link or ad, regardless of whether that click later leads to a registration or deposit. In iGaming affiliation it sits alongside CPA (paid per acquired player) and revenue share (paid a slice of ongoing net revenue), and it shifts most of the conversion risk onto the advertiser rather than the affiliate.
Because the affiliate is paid on traffic rather than on players who fund an account, CPC deals are less common in gambling than CPA or revshare, and operators typically cap or scrutinise them heavily to guard against low-quality or non-converting clicks. When they are offered, click quality, geo, and fraud filtering are central to the rate agreed.
Worked example: an operator agrees a CPC of 0.40 pounds and your review page sends 5,000 clicks to its tracked link in a month. Your gross earnings are 5,000 x 0.40 = 2,000 pounds, paid whether or not any of those clicks deposit. If only 50 of those users register and 20 deposit, your effective cost per acquired depositor to the operator is 2,000 / 20 = 100 pounds, which is why operators watch conversion so closely.
Practical affiliate context: CPC rewards raw traffic volume, so it suits high-intent pages where clicks convert well, but weak conversion can make the same clicks unprofitable for the operator and put the deal at risk of renegotiation or termination. Compare with CPA, CPL, CPM and revenue share when choosing a model.
