What is Team Totals?

A team total is an over/under on one side's goals or points only, settling on that team's output regardless of the final match result.

What it means in practice

A team total is an over/under market on the points, goals or runs scored by one side only, rather than by both teams combined. It lets a bet focus on a single team's output regardless of who wins the match, and is usually offered as a main line plus alternate lines above and below it. Worked example: a team total is set at over/under 1.5 goals. If you back over 1.5 and that team scores twice, the bet wins even if their opponents score four and the match is lost. Settlement rules matter. Football team totals normally cover regulation time, North American sports usually include overtime, and own goals may or may not count towards a team's tally. The operator's margin applies to each side of the line just as it does on match totals.

Why it matters

A definition like this one decides what an offer is actually worth. The same wording turns up in bonus terms, on payment pages and in game rules, and it is usually where a promotion’s real cost is hiding — so it is worth reading an operator’s own terms with this meaning in mind rather than the marketing above them.

You must be of legal gambling age where you live — 18 in most markets, 19 or 21 in others. Understanding a term does not make an outcome more likely: casino games are built to return less than they take over time. Set deposit and time limits before you play.
