What is Tournament Leaderboard?

A ranked contest over a fixed window. The scoring rule decides whether it rewards spending or a single lucky spin — read it first.

What it means in practice

A tournament leaderboard ranks players over a fixed window by a scoring rule, and pays the top positions from a stated prize pool. The scoring rule is the whole thing, and it is often skimmed. Ranking by total wagered rewards volume and is effectively a spending contest. Ranking by biggest single win multiplier rewards a lucky spin at any stake and is far cheaper to compete in. Ranking by net profit rewards neither reliably. Two leaderboards with identical prize pools can therefore ask completely different things of an entrant. Check which games count as well. Most leaderboards weight or exclude titles, and a slot excluded from scoring is one where your play earns nothing toward the ranking.

Why it matters

A definition like this one decides what an offer is actually worth. The same wording turns up in bonus terms, on payment pages and in game rules, and it is usually where a promotion’s real cost is hiding — so it is worth reading an operator’s own terms with this meaning in mind rather than the marketing above them.

You must be of legal gambling age where you live — 18 in most markets, 19 or 21 in others. Understanding a term does not make an outcome more likely: casino games are built to return less than they take over time. Set deposit and time limits before you play.
