What is Crypto KYC?

Crypto KYC is why "anonymous" casinos still ask for ID — the licence sets the obligation, not the currency you deposit in.

What it means in practice

Crypto KYC is identity verification applied to players funding an account with cryptocurrency. The pitch for crypto casinos is often anonymity, and the terms usually say otherwise: several operators require a government ID before a bitcoin player may deposit or bet at all, and block the account until it arrives. The reason is that the licence, not the currency, sets the obligation. An operator answering to any regulator carries anti-money-laundering duties that a payment method cannot switch off, and crypto raises rather than lowers the scrutiny because the source of funds is harder to trace. So read "no KYC" as "no KYC yet". The check usually arrives at the first withdrawal or the first large win, which is the worst moment to discover that the name on your ID does not match the account. Verify early, and expect a source-of-funds question if the amounts are unusual for the account's history.

Why it matters

A definition like this one decides what an offer is actually worth. The same wording turns up in bonus terms, on payment pages and in game rules, and it is usually where a promotion’s real cost is hiding — so it is worth reading an operator’s own terms with this meaning in mind rather than the marketing above them.

You must be of legal gambling age where you live — 18 in most markets, 19 or 21 in others. Understanding a term does not make an outcome more likely: casino games are built to return less than they take over time. Set deposit and time limits before you play.
