What is Free Spins Selector?

A free spins selector is a screen shown at the start of a bonus round asking the player to choose between options that trade the number of free spins against how violently they pay. Four spins with a heavily weighted reel set at one end, twenty gentler spins at the other, and usually two or three steps in between. The choice is real but narrower than it looks. Studios build these options to return approximately the same amount over the long run, so what you are selecting is the shape of the distribution and not its size: fewer spins on a hungrier reel set produce rare large outcomes and long stretches of nothing, more spins on a milder one produce frequent small ones.
