What is Game Lobby?

A game lobby is the listing screen in an online poker or bingo client that shows which tables and rooms are currently running. For poker it lists each table's game type, stakes, table size, number of seated players and average pot, plus filters for cash games, tournaments and sit-and-gos, and buttons to take a seat or join a waiting list. Bingo lobbies show room names, ticket price, prize pool and the countdown to the next game. Tournament lobbies add registration status, entry fee, prize structure and the late-registration window. The lobby is where the cost of playing is stated in full — buy-in, blinds, rake or ticket price — so it is worth reading those figures before sitting down rather than after.
