What is Max Conversion?

The ceiling on how much of a bonus's proceeds can become withdrawable cash, whatever was actually won.

What it means in practice

Max conversion is the limit on how much of a bonus's proceeds can turn into withdrawable cash, regardless of how much the bonus actually won. It is usually expressed as a flat cash amount, or as a multiple of the deposit, or as a multiple of the bonus itself. The timing is what catches people out. The cap is applied when the wagering requirement is completed, not when the win happens, so a player can watch a balance grow well past the ceiling and then see it cut back to the cap at the moment the bonus clears. Nothing has malfunctioned; that is the term working as written. Anything above the cap is simply removed. It is the single condition that most often turns a large-looking offer into a small one, and it bites hardest on the offers that advertise best. No-deposit bonuses and free-spin packages tend to carry the tightest conversions, sometimes a fixed sum small enough that no run of luck can make the offer meaningful in cash terms. The practical habit is to find it before accepting rather than after. Work out what the offer can pay at its ceiling, compare that with the wagering you would have to complete to reach it, and judge the promotion on the smaller of the two numbers. An offer with generous wagering and a tight conversion is worth less than one with the reverse, and the headline figure will not tell you which is which.

Why it matters

A definition like this one decides what an offer is actually worth. The same wording turns up in bonus terms, on payment pages and in game rules, and it is usually where a promotion’s real cost is hiding — so it is worth reading an operator’s own terms with this meaning in mind rather than the marketing above them.

You must be of legal gambling age where you live — 18 in most markets, 19 or 21 in others. Understanding a term does not make an outcome more likely: casino games are built to return less than they take over time. Set deposit and time limits before you play.
