It is worth understanding as a system event rather than as a piece of theatre. The betting window is a countdown enforced by software; the spoken call marks it, but the lock is what decides. A chip placed as the timer reaches zero either registered before the close or it did not, and there is no third answer. This is where most live-table disputes live. A bet that appears on screen but is not in the round, a bet that was cancelled because a connection dropped during the window, or a stake that a player believes was placed in time are all the same question with the same evidence: the round's own record, identified by its game round ID, which shows exactly what was accepted and when. Place bets early in the window rather than at its edge, because a marginal placement over a slow connection is the one case where the answer can be genuinely unwelcome. And if a round resolves in a way you did not expect, note the round ID before leaving the table — it is the only identifier that makes a complaint answerable, and it is far easier to read off the screen than to reconstruct afterwards.
