Stacked Wild

A stacked wild is a wild symbol that arrives in a vertical block occupying two or more adjacent positions on the same reel, rather than as a single scattered symbol. Because wilds substitute for regular paying symbols, a tall stack can turn an entire reel wild in one spin, and a full-height stack across a reel lets that reel complete winning combinations on every payline at once. Game studios use stacked wilds to create the sudden, screen-covering payouts that define many high-volatility slots. The taller and more frequent the stacks, the greater the win potential, so stacked wilds are common on grids with many paylines or ways-to-win, and they often appear enlarged during free-spin rounds.
