What is Bet Behind?

Bet Behind is a live blackjack feature that lets extra players wager on the hand of a seated player at a full or in-play table without occupying a seat themselves, sharing that seated player's win or loss. It exists because live dealer tables have a limited number of physical seats, so operators use Bet Behind to let unlimited additional players join popular tables during peak hours. When you bet behind a chosen player, their decisions govern the hand: they decide when to hit, stand, double, or split, and your bet simply follows the same outcome. Most implementations let you toggle whether your stake automatically doubles when the seated player doubles or splits. You do not control any playing choices, which is the key trade-off. Worked example: you place a 10 EUR bet behind a seated player. They are dealt 20, stand, and beat the dealer, so your bet wins at even money (1:1) and you collect 10 EUR profit, returning 20 EUR total. If they instead hit a natural blackjack, you are paid at 3:2, returning 25 EUR. But if they misplay a hard 16 by hitting into a bust, you lose your 10 EUR even though a different decision might have won. Side bets like Perfect Pairs are usually available on your behind bet independently of the seated player. Practical context for players: because outcomes hinge on a stranger's skill, pick players with strong, consistent basic strategy, and check the table's minimum bet behind, which can differ from the main seat minimum. It is a convenience feature, not a way to gain any statistical edge over the house.
